Mechanophobia

En 1931 John Vassos a publié le livre « Phobia » contenant 24 phobies illustrées dans un style a mi-chemin entre l’art déco et l’art nouveau dont sont issus ces images.
John Vassos est né en Roumanie de parents Grecs, il est passé par la Turquie avant de rejoindre Boston en 1919 où il a suivi des cours d’Art, il travailla ensuite à New York comme dessinateur de publicités avant de se tourner vers le design industriel.

En plus de « Phobia » il a illustré neuf livres dont certains d’Oscar Wilde.
